Meet our committee chair, Michelle
I am privileged to work at Oakdale Elementary. We have wonderful students and a great school community. As the only completely accessible building in the district, Oakdale students have a variety of physical, social and academic needs. Each student is welcomed and included no matter their differences. While students learn and work together in the classroom they are unable to play together because the playground is not accessible. Our current playground has mulch and grass for flooring instead of a flat surface for to roll wheelchairs and a play structure that is 20 years old and not accessible. Our goal with the Scottie Yard Playground is to create a truly accessible environment so that all students can play together in a safe and inclusive environment.
Will you help us build the Scottie Yard Playground?
